The Bridge in Egg Harbor offers Writers Workshops
Wednesday night prose writers' class
A free Writing Workshop on the second Wednesday of each month at 6 PM is another good reason to stop in at The Bridge, Egg harbor's year-round coffee shop and bookstore.
 |
Workshop leader and professional writer, Debra Fitzgerald, says, "Writers
can expect to receive critical but supportive feedback on their prose, learn how to read and listen as a writer,
and talk about the craft of writing with other writers." |
The workshops begin promptly at 6 PM, upstairs at The Bridge, and generally
last for about two hours. Writers with any level of experience are welcome and encouraged to come. Debra Fitzgerald
is a writer, editor, journalist and book reviewer with a MFA in writing from Vermont College in Montpelier, Vermont.
She lives in Egg Harbor.
The Writing Workshops expand the on-going collection and variety of events at the Bridge, providing something special
each week for area writers, thinkers, and talkers. The Bridge regularly features guest speakers and hosts conversations
about some aspect of contemporary community experience. Poetry readings, open mic sessions and book discussions
featuring area writers are held each month.

Letters Night events at The Bridge usually start
at 5:30 PM and last until 7 PM. Bridge owner Donna Lash says the relatively unusual time-slot works well. The early
start/finish is attractive to those who like to be home early or for those who are inclined to pursue nightlife.
