Last updated February 26, 2003
Staff Report

FISH CREEK, WI -
Peninsula Art School is collaborating with Stone's Throw Winery in providing local artists with an exciting opportunity to have their artwork featured on a Stone's Throw Winery label. The selected work and accompanying label will be unveiled at a very special celebration at PAS this summer. In addition, a portion of proceeds from the sale of PAS-labeled wine will be donated to the school.

The contest is open to all PAS faculty and any artist permanently residing in northeast Wisconsin. The deadline for entry submissions is March 15, 2003. For more information or to receive a prospectus, contact PAS Outreach Director Jodi Brey at 920.868.3455 or e-mail
jodi@peninsulaartschool.com.

The Stone's Throw Wine Label project is offered through the Peninsula Art School Outreach Program, which was launched in November of 2001. The Outreach Program is dedicated to strengthening the school's role as a resource within the community and among local artists through community enrichment programs, professional development programs for artists, public art projects and an emerging artist program.

Stone's Throw Winery is located at Peninsula Center, the junction of Cty Hwy E and Cty. A, approximately 5 miles east of Egg Harbor. The winery features a selection of choice wines made from California and Door County grapes, created in the traditional "one-barrel-at-a-time" method. Their tasting room is open daily in season and throughout the winter months, Fri. - Sun., from 10 AM - 4 PM. The winery has an extensive history of supporting local non-profits, and the PAS collaboration is one of several wine-label partnerships with local artists. For more information call 920.868.9660.

The Peninsula Art School and Guenzel Gallery are located at 3906 County Hwy F, in Fish Creek, WI. The hours of the Guenzel Gallery are Monday through Saturday, 9am-5pm and Sunday 12-3pm. For more information about the Peninsula Art School, please call 920 868 3455 or e-mail staff@peninsulaartschool.com.

Peninsula Art School offers a quality arts curriculum with a recognized faculty in a state of the art facility. The Guenzel Gallery at Peninsula Art School augments PAS programs through the exhibition of artwork by Door County, regional and national artists. PAS also provides artist-in-residence programs, scholarships for emerging artists and collaborative outreach programs through an active volunteer base, an aggressive marketing plan and a strong development program.
