WPR to Broadcast Midsummer's Music Concert
December 16, 2003
by
Marcia K. Hoebreckx

Midsummer's Music Festival's August 30, 2003 concert will be broadcast on Wisconsin Public Radio on
Sunday, December 21 at 12:30 PM as part of WPR's Live on the Road Series, hosted by Lori Skelton.

This moving and very successful concert was first performed at the Sister Bay Moravian Church over Labor Day weekend. Capping an extraordinary season, Festival ensemble members David Perry and Stephanie Preucil (violin), Walter Preucil (cello), and William Koehler (piano) played for a standing-room-only audience. The program included Bach's
Cello Suite in D and Concerto for Two Violins, music by Schumann, Dvorak, Casals, Saint-Saens, and Ravel's virtuoso piece for violin, Tzigane.

The Live on the Road Series broadcast in December is a wonderful opportunity for those who missed the concert in August to hear this rich and rare performance that brought Midsummer's audience clamoring to its feet.

Midsummer's Music Festival is already well into the planning process for its 14th anniversary season, which will run from June 10 to July 2, 2004 and will once again include two concerts over Labor Day Weekend. For more information about the December 21 broadcast, you can visit Wisconsin Public Radio's website, www.wpr.org or contact Midsummer's Music at 920.854.7088 or info@midsummersmusic.com.
